Central Serengeti
Heart of the park with year-round wildlife and the famous kopjes where big cats rest and hunt.
About Central Serengeti
Central Serengeti, also known as the Seronera area, is the heart of the Serengeti National Park. This region offers excellent year-round wildlife viewing due to the permanent Seronera River and numerous kopjes (rocky outcrops). The area is famous for its high concentration of big cats, particularly lions and leopards, who use the kopjes as vantage points for hunting and resting. The diverse landscape includes riverine forests, grasslands, and the iconic granite kopjes that define the Serengeti landscape.
